I’ve been looking for a “widget” to allow visitors and readers to just subscribe to blog posts directly. I found the one I like, I hope, and it is now installed under my site counter, above my profile picture. It will send you an email with links to the posts directly within 24 hours of posting, and if there are multiple posts, they will be combined into one email. Typically I don’t blog everyday, I try at least twice a week, but sometimes I have a flurry of posts just due to my own schedule or sudden expression of thoughts or ideas on topics.
When you click on the link you will get a little form to insert your email address and do the security check.
OR… If you use “readers” you can subscribe that way as well.
My understanding is that it is internal and shouldn’t now garner you spam emails or unwanted emails because you have subscribed here.
At the bottom of every email sent to you is an Unsubscribe Option.
Best, Lori
PS There is also a subscribe to comments feature on the website. I have not used it, but I suspect that you can subscribe specifically to a comment thread on a particular topic that you either are interested in, or have commented on. It should notify you via email of any responses.
Happy to report that you will get only one email in a 24 hour period, if there are new posts. All new posts in that 24 hour period will be included in the same email with snippets of the first few sentences.
While it says you can subscribe without commenting, thus far I have not been able to get it to work this way. If you want to subscribe to a comments on a particular post, I won’t mind if you just put in the “subscribe” to be able to receive the notices of additional comments.
