Thanksgiving

“Treat your family like friends and your friends like family.” – Proverb

Dave and I are off to Huntington Beach for the Thanksgiving Holiday Tradition. We are taking our beloved Kip with us who will celebrate Thanksgiving at Dog Beach and love it. Like a parent with a child, I take such joy in seeing him running along the beach sniffing and noticing all the cool things around him.

It will be a good time for Dave and I to “catch up” in the drive to and fro. Always a good time for us to have heart to heart chats when we are captive in a small space for several hours.

Our children are fending for themselves back East with Montana having Thanksgiving with one of her High School friends and her family in Annapolis and Hudson having Thanksgiving with his High School friend who is in Law School in Florida. I think they are meeting up at his grandparents OR a distant relative in Miami. I haven’t heard what he decided. But good food and celebrations will be had by all.

Its a time to be thankful. Even as we contemplate the difficulties we may have been experiencing in our lives, take this time to focus on the things we are grateful for, what is good about knowing someone we have lost, or successes our children have had, that we have a job, friends, family, etc. It maybe a difficult exercise for some of you right now, but try to find those blessings in your life if even for just a short time.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends. Know that I think of you and wish for you good things in your lives and your family’s. You are deserving and worthwhile. I am honored to know you. You have enriched my life beyond measure. I thank you for all that you are and all that you do.

Love,

Lori
